This isn't the right place to put this, but I don't wanna start a new thread just to relay something stupid.
Was looking at a scope last week at Academy here in dirty SA, and asked the gun counter clerk for the price and details. He reads from the computer, "This is the two by seven by thirty two version in mah-tay black color."
I can forgive the 2x7x32; although it is 2 TO 7 BY 32, that's a common mistake made by many.
But mah-tay? The word is matte. As in, MATT. When I corrected him, he just turned his head sideways for a second and then looked at the floor.
That ended my "inquiry."
academy counter clerk kept referring to the slide stop/release as the "deslider".
I didn't correct him. He was a nice guy, though he didn't know what the hell he was talking about.
