    Apparently sometimes looking cool is more important than being in any way adequate.

    Have they ever ( or ever tried ) to determine how a kid making such a merger salary could afford to buy such expensive weapons and ammunition?

    Not in depth that I'm aware of. Apparently one claim that's been tossed out with no documentation or proof is that he saved all of his pay up and didn't buy anything else.

    Which is likely bullshit.

    From the Bearing Arms blog;

    Uvalde parents likely to be disappointed

    The horrors of Uvalde won’t be leaving us anytime soon. That’s a bit of a mixed blessing. After all, we shouldn’t forget what happened at Robb Elementary School. Those who were killed deserve more than to be forgotten by the general public.

    Yet we’re also going to have to discuss them in the context of gun control for a long time to come.

    Right now, the Uvalde parents are trying to pressure the Texas state legislature to adopt gun control, and it doesn’t look promising for them.

    At least the gun control organizations aren't suckering the Uvalde parents into the frivolous lawsuits like they usually do. Doesn't cost thousands and thousands of dollars in legal fees to address the legislature. They've got a history of recruiting the parents of these murdered kids into frivolous lawsuits against gun manufacturers, then leaving them on the hook for legal fees once the case is (rightly) thrown out.

    Well, looks like those families got suckered and Thomas J Henry is gonna get richer on their tab.

    I bet it is on a contingency as most of the folks in Uvalde are not wealthy. They should be suing law enforcement for not doing their jobs and they will likely win, in part, with the justification that law enforcement fired a whole bunch of people over the incident, basically admitting to wrong doing on their parts.

    Uvalde ISD fired their chief and suspended their whole department. Uvalde ISD fired one of the incoming replacement offices who was DPS a responder. DPS fired 2 folks. Uvalde PD's chief vacated his office.

    Thomas J. Henry appears to have a target rich environment for lawsuits.

    Considering that the statement in TJH's press release mentioned looking into suits against firearms and ammunition manufacturers...those lawsuits aren't going to address anything that could have made that day happen any differently or could have created a better outcome. They're going for political (leftist) goals...while probably telling the parents that it's the "best' way to get them "closure" for their loss.

    Mark Davis, conservative talk show host on 660AM The Answer in DFW wrote an opinion article on Newsweek blog following the one year anniversary of the shooting.

    He has made this point many times on the radio,

    The truth is, we do not have a gun problem in Texas—or anywhere else in America. We have a people problem. Increasingly fatherless households, a deepening cultural rot, and a generational penchant for long, damaging hours at computer screens have combined to form a legion of young men untethered from the values that used to inform the American journey to manhood— work hard, get good grades, make something of yourself, cultivate a healthy social life, get married, have kids, and if you choose, spend your Sundays in church.

    A few decades ago I worked on his Jaguar Convertible at the Fort Worth dealer. (the most absent minded guy I ever met)

    Good guy, just 'forgetful'.
