Our Constitution and system of government having three separate but equal branches to check and balance each other were designed to limit government. Actually, at the point of the Rebellion, the King was actively seizing powder, shot and firearms from the colonists and it was a major burr under the saddle of the colonies! They were where we are situated right now!

If the Constitution and Bill of Rights are modified by Liberal fanatics, it will be in the direction and for the purpose of giving more power to the government. They are like caged animals fighting to remove the chains and restraints placed upon them by our founding fathers. OF COURSE they want to remove the shackles!

Remember....power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely! Don't give an inch and never compromise because we know tyranny follows right behind trashing the Constitution.

What else would we expect from an Iranian? Of course he doesn't like a constitution such as ours because it provides strong protections against those who would take our rights and liberty. Google his name and read his students comments about him, here are a few: "doesn't speak good English", "is rude", "will talk about things that don't apply to the class", "doesn't like the military", and "questions on the test have to be written word for word as he said them in lecture and if you change what he said to make it grammatically correct or in proper English he will take points off".

How the hell does this guy have a PHD? In any undergraduate class you are taught that the Constitution is the first enlightenment document. It is BASED on Locke's idea of a social contract. If you read the language and then read Locke, or Roseau in particular you will see almost word for word the same ideas. If I had him I would drop his class and complain. And, it wouldn't be the first time.

Oh no, just because it's not as direct as later constitutions, written by nations that had American and France as models to copy and improve on. Sorry the Consititution wasn't 100% perfect. Yea, when it was first written there were some racial and other biases, but thats what the f-ing Bill of Rights is about. To talk about the documents as politically exclusive is complete ignorance of history and the reality of the situation.

"Khaligh recommends the nation convene a constitutional convention to produce a new one. “I am not saying the Constitution is bad, but the blueprint is not complete,” he said. “It needs lots of work. Personally, I think we should have a constitutional convention and write a new one.”

This is the kind of stuff 15 year olds say when they smoke a bunch of pot and think they have figured out all the answers to the world's problems. Enough said.

Remember the constitution is very plain and simply laid out. (I received a copy once from the Heritage Foundation- It fit into a shirt pocket) If you leave it to the LIBTARDS they will turn it into a 6000 page fiasco (Like they did with the *Affordable Healthcare Act) and tell you you have to pass it to know what's in it.....because G-d Forbid they should actually understand what they are voting for ?

Gotta admit, we kick the term "Democracy" around a lot. If the US was a true Democracy, we would vote on every issue and the majority votes would prevail.

We send people to Congress to vote FOR us and where that fails is when our representatives fail to respect our wishes, begin to enrich themselves in the public trough and pursue their own twisted agendas. This is NOT a Democracy nor does it resemble the representative government our founding fathers set up. Our rulers have lost touch with their employers.....US!

We lost our government when being a Representative or Senator became a full time job. Instead of coming back to live with us, hearing our views and experiencing our issues first hand, they lost touch with the people. They get their "people" input from professional Lobbyists who influence Congressional votes to enrich themselves and (by the way) scraping a little profit off the top for the Legislator.

Yesterday, it was announced that Congress will have an even shorter number of working days. So what do these people do with the remainder of the year besides feathering their own nests and improving their own portfolios? They SAY that they use the time to keep in touch with their constituents. Do you really believe that?

That is the next thing that Ted Cruz needs to shine light upon. What do our employees do with the 66% of the year that they aren't in session and aren't working for us?

Before we change it, I'd like to live under it for a while. By the time I got here, it was already messed with by the politicians and the courts. Income tax and the Fed and then FDR's social programs so pervert the original that it's hard to believe it got past the people. The gun control laws clearly go beyond the "shall not be infringed."

I would quickly support an amendment that says all gov't employees, including the president, must live under ALL the laws imposed on we the people.

    One can dream.

Good luck with that. You'll either need a Con-Con or the almost-never used State Convention to get that. Congress damn sure won't pass anything close to that. It would also be nice if they had to pay the same taxes we do. Of course half of them are the ones always whining about "The rich not paying their fair share" despite being millionaires with tax perks...

The Constitution needs to be restored and the poop and urine stains from every socialist judge and president, up to an including Barack Hussein Obama needs to be cleaned from it.

I think if the Founders could see what has happened over the years, they would have left the Articles of Confederation as they stood, or disbanded the Union.
