Mecgar produces the factory mags for SIG, so there's basically no difference. Sometimes some minor differences in appearance or finish, but they are effectively the same thing, although sometimes for certain models there is a difference of round count by 1 or 2 rounds (P226 is one of those I think). Mecgar are good to go. Avoid Promag like the plague though.

Sig factory mags are Mecgar mags.

At least they were when I got my P228 and 226 a while back.

Mecgar is good stuff. I use their mags in my Beretta 92 and BHP with no issues too.

Anyone Use Or have knowledge of mecgar mags? I'm trying to find a reasonable alternative to Sig factory mag prices.

Mec Gar makes most of Sig's magazines. In other words, they're the OEM magazine.

Skip the 15, you can get 18 round mags that take up the same space. 20s that are only slightly taller, too. :D
