I made the transition from coach and league board member to PAID official this year. I don't like these stories but although they happen too often, they are actually rare.

The physical incidents are rare, but I saw more than my share of verbal abuse towards the umpires and the kids 40 years ago which is why I never let my son play Little League.

I may not agree with all the referee/umpire calls, but I don't abide anyone abusing them. Wife has had to restrain me a few times from "addressing" the abuser....
