I impulse bought a Kershaw for non-work carry, and because I miss the Blackout I lost to the ex. I forgot how sharp they are when you get them (and how great an edge they'l take later). If you buy a Kershaw, you do not want that blade's edge to even touch you or you'll get cut.
I've been carrying a kershaw since my grandpa gave me his. They are a nice little knife. Not so expensive that you're scared to use it, but good enough where you can use it.
Agreed... The blades on the Kershaw's are nice and I accidentally cut myself a few weeks ago as well...
I carry the Kershaw G10 Tactical Speed Bump and see prices for this knife range from $29.95 - $85.00. Amazon periodically sells them for $29 when they're on special. Just have to check back periodically as it's random.
Warranty is second to none. Had a spring issue with my leek and they sent me darn near every part of the knife save the blade free, no purchase receipt needed, only an email describing the issue.
Have you tried Mora (AKA "Morakniv")? I bought a couple for about $11 each after hearing great things about them. Damn, those knives are amazingly sharp! Good quality metal, too. The sheaths pretty much suck, but I've made mine a part of my BOB.
