I figger I'll start off with what I call one of my "obscure" recipes.

While not a big fan of the AK platform, I like them enough to have one. Natch' I hadda reload for it. Seemed the rifle wanted to sling brass halfway to Baton Rouge AFTER it beat it up bad.

So, after much putzing around, I found this recipe to work:

Winchester 123 GR soft point (.310")

    14 GRs of 2400

    Win Large Rifle Primer

    Win. brass.

Gentle crimp to the cannelure. (I can go look up the OAL if someone cares)

This load shoots minute of pie plate at 100 yards with sights on mechanical zero. Brass is within eight or ten feet and virtually unharmed. Shooting is comfortable as opposed to milsurp or *shudder* Wolf ammo.

I have a test lot of brass that is on it's fourth load. No signs of brass failure (and I am anal about brass).

I have an AK as well, cheapo Century Arms wasr model but a great gun for the price. Though, mine is intended for times when it is necessary to take on a platoon of russian paratroopers with a group of a high school kids while thrusting it up over my head screaming WOLVERINES! ;)

That could open a can of worms, but that's okay.

    My 7.62 x 39 dies are Lee.

    *shudder*

    Lol

Kinda goes with the rifle, if ya pick up what I am layin' down.

    :p

Nothing wrong with Lee dies. My .308 die set is a Lee Deluxe, and I have the Lee crimp die for that caliber as well. My 7.62x54r and 7.5x55 are both RCBS, mainly because the 7.62x54r came with both size expanders, and the K31 is picky about chamber dimensions, and I heard the RCBS dies were good for that particular gun.
