    Didn't Montana do something similar?

And California also passed legislation decriminalizing marijuana for medical use.

Mainly symbolic. But a good start.

It is an interesting arguement; The Feds only have jurisdiction in areas of interstate commerce. If a firearm is made in one state, sold in that state and never leaves that state, there is no interstate commerce involved. Therefore, the Feds have no jurisdiction.
IF someone were to get that to fly, it might open up a whole new can of worms for the Feds. You work for a company that is local and does no business outside of your state, can they make you pay Federal income tax? Does a car made in Michigan, sold in Michigan and never leaves Michigan have to comply with Federal safety and emmisions standards? Can Abbott Labs (in Austin) make drugs that are not FDA approved and market them strictly in Texas w/o Federal scrutiny? Can the Feds collect excise taxes on tires that are made in Texas and do not leave the State?

The list can go on and on. I would like to see this concept tested in Court so a precedent can be established.
