What are you interested in? Check out Palo Duro Canyon if you have time during daylight. Caddilac ranch is famous, not a lot to it but famous. Some get a kick out of the Big Texan famous tourist trap with the FREE 72oz Steak!!! Well you do have to eat it and all the sides for it to be free. Enjoy its a great town with friendly people.

    .
old thread but just found it..

I moved to Amarillo, from Hawaii, one December - in the middle of the worst Winter they'd had in years.....the warmest bit of clothing I owned was some over the calf golf socks - seriously

the Summer play "Texas" (in Palo Duro Canyon) is well worth a visit - the Cadillac Ranch is a "forget it" non-item (stanley marsh likes little boys and deserves jail time, I've heard (and read))

wind and cold.....I commuted to Houston from there for 4 years and gave it (and a Wife) up

in later years I did spend overnights in AMA and did go to the Big Texan for dinner (which I never did do while living there) - actually some good Prime Rib - will go again, should another overnight come my way

    t. boone pickens is a jerk - made "his" by using his ex-wifes $s - met his sister, Tennessee :p, at a function - some good people there but a whole bunch of the "other kind"
