While it is interesting, if one has Bacon & Eggs, then I have to presume they are kept in a cooler to keep them safe to eat.
If you have a cooler, then a pan does not amount to much more to carry.

Notice how the guy barely eats any of the stuff from the bag. He also doesn't do a closeup of it so that we can see how much charred bag is in those eggs. 10-15 minutes and the bacon's not done? Screw that, bring a pan.

I've cooked eggs in orange peels directly over the coals. Good stuff.

I've known about this method for years but never tried it because as noted the bacon takes a long time.

I also like biskets on a stick over coals.

Back in the 60s we had a blind kid in our scout troop. Everyone was overly helpful to him and he would get mad. Finally he bet us he could hardboil and egg in a paper cup over a wood fire without the cup burning up. He filled the cup with water put an egg in and the cup would only burn to the water level. It took a while and he had to add water a couple times but it worked. We quit helping him unless he asked. He made Eagle Scout just like the rest...on his own.

I would just put the bacon on a stick and hold over the fire. The egg you can make a small hole or crack in the top to relieve pressure and just set it on some coals that are burning out or a hot rock. It doesn't take much to cook an egg.
