Cause Texas alone is larger that France (204k sq miles) and Austria (32K) combined. Texas is larger than Spain (191k), Portugal (36k), and Austria (32k) combined. Texas is larger than Great Britian/Ireland (120k), Italy (114k), and of course, Austria (32k) combined.

Throw in some liberal states like Massachusetts (10,555 sq miles) Connecticut (5,544 sq miles), Delaware (1,954 sq miles), Rhode Island (1,545 sq miles) to put things in perspective.

268,601 square miles of non stop Texas action. Stop complaining that my cow eats more than your gerbil!

Actually our per capita usage is very high, but we also boast the largest GDP in the world, which requires a large portion of our energy. We also have a modernized climate control system in 4/5ths of every building. Alot of the Europeans don't need the climate control systems about 70% of the year due to their mild temperatures.

In the end we are more wasteful, in the absolute sense, but Europeans often overlook the daily required usage that Americans incur.

If we could get all the whining left wing lunatics to lead by example, we could cut our energy consumption in half (maybe?). Al Gore alone uses 20x the electricity that the average household does.
