Anybody interested in doing something like helping out with the current ammo situation. I’m thinking something like if one was to find ammo in stock somewhere like at good prices to get like one for oneself and one that can be traded or sold to someone else. Like example I see some 9mm at a Walmart or whatever and I get 2 boxes 1 for me and the other to help someone who’s having a hard time finding some in time idk something like that cause I haven’t been able to catch any on stock anywhere in weeks, especially not at fair price

It always sounds good in theory but if everyone keeps buying, prices will stay high. Buy what you personally need, or if you find a good deal, stock up. Then maybe start a wtt thread if you have something to spare.

Welcome, fellow Texan...nix to your socialist idea on the ammo, though. The trumpet has been blown for at least 5 years here, and on other forums...any giving I do of ammo these days has to be based on a prior relationship...and most of those have planned ahead, too. There are no more fair prices...we're at the grityerteethandbuyit stage...and ammo ain't firecrackers, either.

I gave 900 rounds of .223 to a neighbor---35 yrs old easy...who promised to save it and use it in his AR to help out in the neighborhood...he and some buds got drunk and when I went back to get 100 rds for a young Marine who'd come back home...there was none. Sheepishly admitted shooting it all up in one drunken afternoon. Deals like that have happened too often.

Now, an alternate plan would be to announce what calibers you have extra of that you might trade with someone within driving distance for calibers you might need...might get some good response on that idea.

All right...what caliber, and how many cases d'ya need? Sorry I ain't got the right bullet weight.:flag: I've given away more than I have left to family/friends the last 5 years or so...guns, too, gettin' them up to speed and oldies like me something they could handle OK, but somebody's standin' on the pipe these days real hard...looked for 20 ga buckshot for months before I scored what I needed...all I'm hearin' in 9, .38, .45, and .22 are discouragin' words. Still lookin'. Big question is how much is enough?

Sad fact of life is, if you want ammo right now, you are just going to have to suck it up and pay the price.

As someone else said, most people knew this would happen again, and it did. Might even be worse in some ways than the last time. Most people took precautions because of the last time.

You may just have to sacrifice some other things to buy ammo, if you think you really need it bad enough. Only you can decide what your priorities are.

    Out here by the lake!
I have some Hirtenberger L7A1 9mm ammunition I could see parting with. I'd have to dig thru cans to find it to know how much I have. If I did sell it it be for all of it, FTF in Houston. I aint dicking around with selling boxes!
