I know this is about panic buying of ammo. But as a side note, I EDC a .40 and I'm pretty sure that if a situation ever arises that requires it to appear, I guarantee no one is laughing. We may disagree on caliber efficiency but I'm sure we can all agree its better to have a have a gun someone with a keyboard doesn't like vs not having one when you need it.

Just heard a new conspiracy theory about this virus.
It was developed to kill off older people.
Older people own a lot of property and wealth.
This would inherit down with their passing.
Gov would then be able to steal more of this wealth thru inheritance taxes as well as easing the burden on public service such as Medicare, Social Security, etc.

I have plenty of ammo. Looked online and even some of the typical higher priced vendors haven't jacked the price yet. Toilet paper becomes more of a concern by next weekend though.

For giggles I went over to Academy just now to see the madness.
Store was busy as X-mas time.
People standing in line buying guns.
Ammo shelves pretty much stripped of handgun ammo. Only $premium HP stuff left.
Plenty of Fudd rifle calibers, shotshells, and, surprisingly, .22 rimfire, all in decent amounts.
There was a young couple walking out as I was who had just purchased a handgun. Asked them how long did it take? About an HOUR they said.

Damn. I guess they did sell out. Mine shipped yesterday so I guess I grabbed one right before they were gone. It was a decent price IMHO.

LGS manager I just spoke to says he is restricting sales to two 50rd boxes.
Said he has a few K rounds at the shop.
His distributor called him this morning saying if you want 9mm order it now as they had only 31K on hand.
He called back two hours later to place order. 31K gone! No idea on resupply.

Amazing, I ordered 1,000 rounds on Monday by Wednesday no longer available. Got lucky this time. 9mm for 17 cents per round shipped. It is absolute madness, sheer madness.

This whole situation is rediculous. I expected a run on ammo and lowers, etc. later in the year but this panic might catch some people off guard. People who thought they'd have a little more time. I'm not one of those people, but the last time this kind of shit went down (early 2013), I was ill prepared..not this time. I almost feel guilty when I think about what I have and have loaded up on for the last 6 years. Don't know why I feel bad for others but I kinda do. I've been there, and it sucks.
