LOL, this is just like when Medina nuked her chances at governor in a Glenn Beck interview by saying something equally stupid.

News flash, Doc; where you live doesn't determine what your rights are.

One could postulate that living in a highly populated area wpuld necessitate higher capacity mags and semi autos to defend yourself effectively should the need arise.

Perhaps we should send him some very civil emails trying to educate him on how this works in the real world and why those in dangerous areas have MORE of a need for semi-autos. I really like him for the majority of his viewpoints and I really don't think hes so close minded as to not consider changing his stance when presented with the information.

To this day, I cannot convince my dad what she said what she said. He was just pissed he had to vote for Perry and pay for toll roads.

This guy makes a lot of sense on a lot of stuff. But at the end of the day, he's a Yankee in academia. He has no context to weapons uses, needs etc. Thus this statement.

If you want to split hairs, when Beck offered him the life line of who decides, he did say at a local level. Which is imo a constitutional position.

Heh, I heard it live on the radio when she said it. I was headed to dinner with a friend of mine, we heard her say it, turned to each other and went, "WTF!?" Beck even kind of gave her a do-over on it and she doubled down. Both of us were going to vote Medina in that election, too... Well, guess where our votes went.

If you want to split finer, the 14th Amendment says that local level doesn't get to decide on civil rights.

Lol even though guns are black, it doesn't quite count as civil rights. Maybe if all guns owners voted democrat...

    Welcome to 8 months ago.

I saw this show when it aired and I took it hard to see such a otherwise smart guy show how ignorant someone can be about the 2A

I lost all hope for him going into politics with my support right then and there.
Maybe someone can get to him and educate him.. but with his inner city upbringing , I doubt it

    Spot on.

Haven't seen this before, but it sounded like Carson initially wasn't sure what the 2A was, until GB nudged him with the word "guns".

What was disappointing is he was clearly searching for words and had not given much thought to 2A issues. I believe you hit the nail on the head with the "inner city upbringing" - the root cause of much of the misunderstanding of urbanites being a lack of any familiarity with arms other than criminal use.

    That we don't need.

My mother, a Democrat, went to school with in happy happy Detroit. After going through a long stage where she simply hated guns. Guess what? Her sons got older and...all bought guns and nothing bad happened.

So ya'll really didn't vote for her solely because she had her own personal opinion about the events of 9/11. Even with the good things she mentioned right before? Just because she has personal doubts about 9/11, she didn't even explicitly state the government was directly involved, just that we haven't seen all the evidence. Would ya'll do the same if a candidate had personal doubts that all the info on JFK's murder hasn't been released (which it hasn't and much of it is "missing") or MLK's muder which in 1999 a court unanimously agreed (with quite sufficient evidence) that multiple government agencies had large roles in that assassination?

You mean like Jesse Ventura? I'd vote for him over Perry any day.

LOL. Having spent plenty of time living in other states I always laugh when I hear/see Texans bitch about their politicians. Rick Perry would be escorted in like Elvis compared to the shitfucks other states have to deal with. lol

Ben Carson will probably not run for anything. His expertise however is in healthcare not RKBA. He has great value in that he can present a free market alternative to Obamacare in easy to understand language in less than two minutes. This is something that most elected republicans have not been able to articulate.
