First Data also has lost business to rivals and was saddled with about $22 billion in debt at the end of 2012.

The story in the OP, dated 2008, doesn't seem to have affected too many people. From between that time frame to 2011, I bought a lot of guns online. Neither of my 2 credit cards was affected by First Data Corporation though so I had no problems whatsoever.

I used a Citibank card this month for a gun purchase, have also used AMEX and Chase. Never an issue.

I call BS.

I was reading about this on akfiles. Apparently its's visa that is denying gun based processing, I have yet to have any credit card charges be denied for any reason.

I seriously doubt USAA will throw me under the bus on my gun purchases, even though I'm not a vet...great bank.
