I haven't posted much in awhile regarding the militarization of our civilian police.

Dallas County Now Has Its Very Own Bulletproof, "Mine-Protected" Military SUV

Is this really what we want?

The Sheriff's office says it will help them serve warrants. I'm sure it will. It would also help them if we just all wore a shock collar.

Unreal folks. What's next? Combat Engineer Vehicles?

Are the thugs in Dallas Texas really that hardcore? Seems like a little over kill to me. But then again, what the hell do I know.

Seems like a silly idea to me also...... I mean the meth freaks, real or wannabe terrorists, organized bank robbers and mentally ill anti-government combatants ALWAYS play fair and only use .25 caliber Saturday night specials if they use weapons at all.

What a waste of tax dollars!

MRAPs for domestic use is pretty ridiculous.

Sounds about right. Dallas County handles the rural areas around Dallas, and those areas are shrinking as suburbs continue to grow.

Seems like an odd use of funds while their overall mission is getting smaller, but also par for the course for Dallas County. One of the worst Sheriff's Offices I've ever seen.
