As I was dozing off around 9:15, Wife suddenly shouted: “There is a man in our carport!” I awoke, grabbed my bedside carbine, and headed for the door. By the time I got out, he was “gone”.

Sheriff’s deputy came by & took prints. I went back to bed. Burglar sneaked next-door and stole a H&K .45 from another deputy’s truck.

Just got a call from deputy, they caught a 30 y-o convicted Felon gun thief car burglar, who is spending a few nights in jail, waiting for a Judge. BG had a couple of the burgled guns on himself.

    Glad I didn’t have to shoot anyone. . . . . .

This, not being Texas, our laws are a bit different.

So, deputy left a gun in his car.
Yes, he, a neighbor, was not ‘on-duty”, and his private truck had an H&K .45 and was not locked.

Seems this lesson must be learned over-&-over.

My immediate Family have cost me two pistols like that.
So, deputy left a gun in his car.
Yes, and he was very lucky to get it back a couple days later.

    Yes, the lesson learned over-and-over.

We were lucky in that my Wife just happened to glance up at the monitor and saw the BG trying to break into her car.

The BG was lucky in that Wife stopped me fro opening the back door, as I had carbine in hand & was ready.

Yet, we all learn. Superfluously at times. . . . .
