to having a sun shade on a scope? i'm looking at getting one for my Leupold scope. Does it take away anything besides the glare, as its designed?

I have not noticed any downside to a sunshade on any of my scopes. I was initially worried about loss of light gathering ability in low light but after some testing decided that I couldn't tell a difference.

I found it a little harder to see out of my 40mm bsa in low light, quick easy fix though, just screw it off in low light and keep shooting =)
