Buy 20 acres 70-100 miles out
Lease it for cattle grazing (ag exemption)
    Don’t shoot the cattle

I have 20 ac. Used to be Ag exempt for hay. Last year I switched to wildlife Ag valuation. Get the lower tax valuation and don’t have to worry about any real work that you wouldn’t otherwise be doing.

I really miss all the access we had to vast expanses of land growing up in Colorado. Man, you could go camping on a trout filled stream and not see another Jeep for 2 or 3 days. Once in a while run into a ranger or warden who were polite and helpful as long as you were shooting responsibly...
Probably not the same today, but still a whole lot of access.
