Ironic how Ca has plenty of land to shoot on and the worst gun laws. I plan on moving west for retirement, one of the reasons is public land to shoot on.
More and more of that "public" land is being locked up and inaccessible to the "public". I'd much rather live in a state where the people own the land instead of the government.
I have 20 ac. Used to be Ag exempt for hay. Last year I switched to wildlife Ag valuation. Get the lower tax valuation and don’t have to worry about any real work that you wouldn’t otherwise be doing.
I really miss all the access we had to vast expanses of land growing up in Colorado. Man, you could go camping on a trout filled stream and not see another Jeep for 2 or 3 days. Once in a while run into a ranger or warden who were polite and helpful as long as you were shooting responsibly...
Probably not the same today, but still a whole lot of access.
