    This is a pic of a mini-14 I saw the other day. I like the set up. does anyone have any input about what has been done to this mini? photo-mini-14.JPG Sorry this is he only pic I have. I know it is not much help.

    Looks like a boyds stock that has had they thumbhole opened up. Looks like a barrel shroud on the business end. A bipod and a scope. Just looking at the picture that's all I can tell.

    Not exactly wrong.

    Not everyone pushes in to the bipod while shooting and turning it "backwards" reduces the chance if it snagging and hanging on crap while walking.

    That's a pretty hefty rifle to take for a very long walk, but the point about the bi-pod is a good one.

    Mine lock the legs when vertical, so you'd have to put a lot of lean on them to get them to fold.

    That barrel shroud/tuner being machined to also shroud the gas block looks pretty good.
