Starting to regret selling all of our off-road toys...would love to get back into off-roading.

Most of what I’ve been doing is mud at a buddy’s property in Gober. But looks like there are quite a few good spots I’d like to check out, here’s just a few:

Enjoy some mild mudding and 4x4 but nothing too wild (i.e., overlanding). Running some 33x17 on my 4x4 V8 4Runner. Haven't done anything except some muddy donuts in a vacant lot since moving here to Texas (Oct. 2018)...

I refuse to get anywhere near mud anymore, if possible.

Too many times, mud was involved in getting to equipment that I had service calls to attend to. So many times, going through oilfield muddy roads wasn't in any way recreational, and getting stuck and having to use the winch to get unstuck was far from being fun.

Because of that, I just got to where going mudding lost it's fun for me.

I hate mud. Really hate mud.

If I were to ever get into off-road again, it would be something like trails, or rock climbing.

One type of off-road racing I use to enjoy watching was the Baja style of desert racing. Now that looked like some serious fun.

At my age I have outgrown any urge to play in mud.

I hate mud for different reasons:
It gets everywhere and becomes concrete-like when it dries.

MT rated mud tires make a big difference, but they also sling it all over the place.

Oh there was a time many years ago, I use to enjoy going mud bogging with my buddies. Those days are way behind me.

I remember many a time coming home from a service call, and having to strip down to my skivies in the garage because I was covered in as much mud as my truck was. That ain't no fun. Add in cold, wet and miserable, and it got really bad.

That was our life for the better part of a decade - desert hard-pack and sand dunes.

    Good times for sure.

We off-road quite a bit. It’s been a while but we’re planning out next trip now. Hope things allow us to do some wheelin in November.

Have been to a few off-road parks and we did the Alpine loop last summer. I love the San Juan mountains.

I prefer overland & rock crawling
