I recently got into reloading. I have a 6" faxon barreled .300 blackout. It's got a 5" twist. I wanted to possibly buy dull purpose subs / supers. I haven't come across much <190gr projectiles. Anybody got any experience with this

Thankyou sir. Glad to be alive and kicking. I'm hoping to gain some knowledge, I know there's plenty of room to absorb some
I can't help you with the .300blk info, but welcome to the forum. There are several folks here that might be able to help.

I have had good luck with 150 gr bullets and 5.5 grains of Unique for cheap plinking subsonics.

For accurate subsonic hunting loads VV N120 and Accurate 1680 are excellent.

I have a longer barrel so you will have to do your own trial and error.

I don’t reload. But I have tried every .300 BO subsonic round found on Ammoseek.com to test compatibility with my (all legal ) 7” DD .300BO suppressed SBR.

    2 datapoints:
Optimizing the powder charge and bullet weight with the spring and bolt to fully cycle but not over cycle the bolt AND adequately stabilize the bullet is an art.

For some reason, all the powders in the testing seems to be very dirty (from some top flight cartridge companies). Not sure why but much more cleaning required than either of my .308.

    Enjoy.

Do you know What kind of velocities are you getting on your 7" with manufactured ammo. With subs or supers both?
