Anymore Wildcat or New Cartridges?

With all the available ammo choices on the market, I have to wonder if there are really any new wildcat cartridges someone could come up with that would be any better than what is already available on the market?

If I had to guess, it would be pretty difficult to come up with something new and improved, that there wasn't something already out there on the market.

Or if you could talk to the manufacturers, what would be your ideas for a great new cartridge that they should make?

One idea I had, was a Winchester 30-30 round, changed to a rimless cartridge for bolt actions, using a box magazine to be able to use better bullets.

I sort of did. After I posted that, I remembered why it really didn't make any sense, since it would be pretty much a 308 Winchester!

I've got dad's old Savage bolt action 30-30.

Not a caliber, but would like to see a ar15 in .380
Or even a .32 conversion kit for an ar10.

Would be the perfect racoon/opossum rifle

I actually ran across one on consignment sale some years ago. That was sort of where the idea for a rimless 30-30 cartridge came from.

Didn't Ruger offer a bolt action in 30-30 some years ago as well?

Nah can’t think of anything but if I could snap my fingers and make things magically happen I would have hornady bring back a few forgotten ones. Mostly the 338-06. Many cases when resized do very well. Just like the 338 federal turned a 308 case into a heavy hitter at closer ranges, the 338-06 produced some nice energy and obviously used common components.

as best I can remember, the .30 Remington did that back in 1906, but has been log discontinued

I have all 14 volumes of the speer manuals, been collecting reloading manuals for years
