    Back in the mid seventies, I did a BBQ tour of Kansas City, (I was living there). Went to all the joints and bigger places too. Took the better part of 2 years going on weekends.

    Some if it was outstanding and some was outhouse.

    Its down 37, but Van's BBQ is pretty good. I always stop there on my way to Corpus.

    All those places in Austin are fake. The city council passed a no smoke law a few years ago. Those places have no fires, no smoke, and no pit. They have warmers. All the real places around here are in Taylor, Luling, Lockhart, Elgin, etc......
