I am curious why the Lone Star fails to draw the same crowd the Original Ft Worth show does? Anyway I went today, it was the usual show, usual amount of dealers. I failed to procure a snubbie 19 or 66 like I wanted...well I saw a 66 but I am not willing to spend $1000 on a $700 pistol.
Just when I thought this show was going to be a dry hole (AKA jerky show) I found some police trade-in's at Bachman's. Picked up a pretty good shape S&W 64-4 snubnose. I swapped out the hammer to make it a DAO pistol. Also swapped out the rubber grips with some crapper wood ones until I can find a better pair.
It is difficult these days to visit a gun show when the vendors have flipped their business model upside down: They now want more for their guns, ammo, and gear than a brick and mortar gun shop or big box store.
