I saw one a few months back on TGT but did not know much about it. It kind of reminded me of the Berreta Neos

The ad in the pic is from a 1959 wholesale catalog. I used to salivate over this gun as a kid. When I started buying pistols 50 years ago, I had forgotten all about it until I saw the old ad.

I have several Whitney Wolverine Pistols. I've been collecting them for years.

Topduarte is correct, they are not cheap. They were manufactured between 1956 and 1962 and there were only 13,000 or so produced. Most of these were "blued" (really 2 tone black) but 500 were produced late in the life of the company and were nickel plated. These are particularly collectable.

A nice blue "shooter" will probably bring $750.
A pristine blued pistol with a nice box will easily bring $1000.
An early blued pistol that actually has "Wolverine" engraved on the frame will bring >$1200.
The nickel plated pistols are very hard to find. The pistol alone will bring $2000 and with a nice box and paper probably $2500.

They are nice shooters but are getting to be valuable enough that I doubt many people shoot them any more.

I have several extras if anyone is looking for one.

Very nice! In the years they were produced, what was their average retail price?

They were sold mainly mail order. I still remember seeing the ads in the back of sporting magazines like Field and Stream. I think they were $39.95 and $5.00 more for the nickel plated ones.

I was just a kid. Mowing lawns for $0.50 a pop. Couldn't afford one then.

I thought we were talking about some crazy, wild chick named Whitney...

I think I knew her sister, Bertha Behemoth.
She was one of the BUTT sisters, remember them well, they had a guy who followed them around wearing a sign saying 'Wide Load Ahead'. My buddy who liked the larger frame guns and women, told me she had a gash on her that looked like the grand canyon and that if he had not had a 2x4 strapped to his azz he would have fallen in.
