I just heard about these! I asked a buddy of mine about them and he confirmed that he can get them. I am going to get one.

It's a limited run of 642's. If it's like the 37-2's that were out a few years ago, they won't last long.

I'll post some pics and a review when mine gets here.
His shop is near Austin, and for $433 plus shipping & tax, I don't see a downside.

All the new S&W revolvers have an integral lock near the cylinder release. When that storage lock is locked the gun cannot fire. Some people have experienced the lock activate on it's own and render the gun dead . These do not have the !@#*ing lock.

It looks like there are only a few thousand of these.

Bodyguards are definately old school cool. They are hard to find.

The Aluminum frames on the 642s make them lighter than the Bodyguard. I also like that the action is pretty sealed against lint, dust etc also.

I can help you with the 44 mag.
David has a blued model 29 at his shop.

I have a 442 and my wife has a 642, both with Crimson Trace grips and no internal locks. The 642 was purchased on 3/04/2006 and the 442 was purchased on 5/17/2007. Both were bought at Academy Sports.

    Very nice set up TXPhanton.

I am going to start a snubbies thread in the pistols section with some recommendations made to me.
