Just moved back to the coast after several years out of state. Wondering if there are any others on here from near Matagorda County or south of Houston somewhere.

Damn, never even saw G69's response...gave me a laugh.

Chinookman, I live in Lake Jackson now but still go to Bay City from time to time if you ever put some sort of shoot together.

TundraWookie...just getting back to TGT, usually hang out at TaurusArmed, but still check in from time to time. I'm in this area as well, silly rulesaround here (close) about joining ranges, etc. Either price or long waiting list or secret password, don't know. Usually shoot out in the country (at brother's property). Have visited municipal range in Texas City couple times (not bad). Anyway, keep in touch, maybe we can put something together for us non-Houstonians!

I agree...the ranges down here have too many issues with becoming a member. I normally shoot down here at my parent's house or my tiny private berm but it would be nice to have a dedicated facility in the area. Kinda ridiculous that there isn't something decent given the number of people that would frequent it. Maybe we can figure something out in the future.

I haven't checked recently but last I heard they had closed membership until membership goes down. If they've started accepting applications again I'm sure there is quite a wait list.

I'm a member of Greenwood Gun Club.
Membership in Greenwood is on a first come first served basis.
The wait list is long. Last I heard(approx 1 month ago) it was over 200+ people long.
New members are inducted as old members do not renew membership.
As a VERY rough quesstimate only about 50 new members are inducted each year. This number varies greatly each year depending on how many current members renew.
If you want in you must apply and get on the waiting list.

I'll be long gone before a 4 year wait comes around. Why not consider an expansion or secondary location if membership is booming?
