LONG AGO, I think about 1972, I ended up with a blued Model 29 with a 4" barrel, as a result of a widow "turning it in to the UCSD" as it was the revolver that her husband used for his suicide.
(I bought it from the county SO in a sheriff's auction, cheap, a couple of years later.)

It sold very cheap at auction (I think for maybe 150.oo) as it was REALLY UNPLEASANT to shoot with full-power 44 MAG loads but it was a "pussycat" with .44SPL homebrew 240 grain CB loads at about 800FPS (using 6.4 grains of UNIQUE) & DEADLY ACCURATE on predators.

Carried well in a Don Hume OWB holster too but the N-frame is really difficult to conceal. - IF I remember correctly, it weighed about 45 ounces loaded.
(When I was a city marshal, I wore it most every day on the job, as concealment was unnecessary in that job.)

Like most everything else that i owned back then, after Vickie Kay passed away in 1985, I sold it to pay off some of her final hospital bills.

    yours, satx
