Mine took about a month for the actual license, another few weeks for all the reg books and related crap. Never heard a peep out of the CLEO.

Additionally you can find a template for the bound book pages on line. I've had my C&R for 5 or 6 years and I've saved waaaay more than the license cost!

Kiss your closet space goodbye. The C&R is a great tool and not just to buy from distributors. You can swap guns through the mail between C&R holders as long as they are on the list of approved C&R firearms. When a new model C&R hits the distributors be prepared to buy fast as inventory can go fast and sometimes they are gone forever like the MAS 49/56 or the Spanish FR8. Make sure you never sign the original license, just make copies of it and send ink signed copies to the distributors and collectors you intend to trade with for them to have on file. It is not intended to be a dealers license for commercial retail purposes, but you can sell off pieces while managing your collection. An example would be you buy 15 Mausers on a 5 for $100.00 sale and decide to keep the best 10. You record the sale in your bound book.
