My local dealer has a DPMS LR-308 in stock, for $1100. Nice rifle,I would buy it but I don't shoot 308. If they would make it in 30/06 or 300WM then I would get one.

Pretty sure that .30-06 and .300WM are too long for an AR 308 platform, in anything but single-shot anyway. I have seen some AR-10 like rifles in the Winchester Short Magnums IIRC. Also in .243, but that's a .308 derivative so that would make sense.

Put one together yourself. Almost the same as an AR-15.

Picked up a complete upper on sale from Armalite and pieced together an Aero lower with parts from 762sass.com.

Nice looking 308s... Need to post a thread for ARs only...

I decided to go with DPMS LR-308 AP4 with Quad Rails. From what I could find, that rifle had good reviews and at the right price.... I'm now looking at scopes and other goodies to dress her up with. I've learned that your options are harder to find for the 308s vs the AR-15s.

My friend has a LR-308 (without the rails). Great rifle, but it could use a better trigger. Stupid accurate, though. I got to send a few downrange on the 300 yard line at PSC and the hits were very close to my calls, the first hit was a dead-on match for my call.
