Bad time to purchase an AR-15. Bad time to build an AR-15. Some nut shoots a bunch of people just going about their lives. This is followed by talk of draconian firearms legislation (generally overblown.) Then manufacturers raise prices and still sell-out their inventory. The arms industry has got to love Democratic and left leaning presidential administrations. They are the best lobbyists conceivable for their profit margins. It's one of the oddest economic dynamics in any industry.

Well said. I spent over a month looking for a reasonable price on a new/slightly used M&P-15 and still ended up paying over $900 tax and transfer. Lucky to find one on TGT (Texas Gun Trader) for under $1200.

Mr. Peanutbutter! Complete "build" kit was $349, so then I went and spent some more money at Magpul for handguard, stock, grip, rear sight, and the Radians charging handle.
