The lower needs to be either assembled as a pistol before, or never assembled at all.
Then, whatever parts you purchase and have possession of - you need to make sure can only be assembled in a legal manner. So, if you have a virgin/pistol lower and a pistol parts kit, with a buffer tube that will not accept a stock - you should be good.
