Are Saiga 12s fairly simple to work on?

I'm looking to change the stock on a Saiga 12 shotgun as well as add picatinny quad rails to it. Haven't ever had the need to do it with an AR or any other weapon where one would expect to see rails and the like, so I'm wondering how simple the process is for a Saiga 12?

I'd suggest a professional conversion... the stocks on the "stock" Saigas are designed around that weird relocated trigger and such...

I basic conversion with the Tapco modified trigger, relocated trigger guard, solid backplate for ACE stocks, and a good Cerakoted paint job is the way to go... I was going to start on mine next but thinking it may have to wait until after this 7.62x39 AR project is closer to being done.

You can get the conversion done and then add the quad rail later...

Selph Arms in Buda does the conversions...

Converted, huh? Anyone know what those conversions cost to have done?

I'm thinking that I want to trick out a Saiga 12 instead of an AR for funsies. I saw a 30 shell drum for the Saiga 12 online but it was made of metal so I imagine it must make the weapon way too heavy... I posted some photos of a Saiga 12 with a 12 gauge ammo belt feeding it but has anyone ever seen anything like that for sale anywhere?
