Far better choice than anything G(ot)M(echanic)C(oming) as far as off road capable.

Yeah, we can play acronym games all day but it won’t change anything

Civilian vehicles aren’t meant for the shit they are saying it will be used for. The Raptor would end up scrapped with a twisted frame. But under field conditions it won’t matter because using 90% off the shelf parts meant for soccer moms and and guys who want to pretend they are desert warriors driving up and down 35 means any of these trucks will be constantly breaking down in the field.

There’s a reason HMMWVs are designed the way they are. They may be dated, but the concepts that went in to their design made sense. This thing will be nothing more than a stripped down overpriced GSA truck. And it would be the same wether they got it from Ford, Dodge, GM, or anyone else. Hell, they’d be better off with the damn Tesla truck. At least it had the appearance of being off-road capable and had 4 redundant motors instead of a transmission that’s meant for the highway. (Take extra batteries though).

@Younggun , is exactly correct. The Humvee was a purpose built vehicle, designed to take the place of the aging Jeep, which was another purpose built vehicle for military usage. Both were adapted to civilian use, and not civilian use vehicles adapted for military or combat usage like they are planning with the Colorado.

There are many applications the Colorado could be used for in the military, but a combat vehicle isn't one I would think it would be good at either. Anything soldiers throw at the Colorado, is going to be ten times what a civilian will!

They would make good targets! Not as durable as an old tank, but fun just the same.
