I just had this thought. Cerberus Capital Management, L.P owns a majority stake in Chrysler, they also own Remington, Marilin, Bushmaster, and DMPS arms. All of these are gun makers and 3 sell AR-15's

Now these are selling very well now and providing money that is helping off set poor Chrysler performance. Now what happens if AR-15's get banned and that cash cow is no longer there.

Would this help push Chrysler into bankruptcy sooner? Just food for thought.

Cerberus is bigger than that, and don't cross manage businesses either. If all those gun manufactures went under, it wouldn't have any impact at all on Chrysler going under, they'll go under all by themselves.

BTW, they also own a majority stake in GMAC.

Also, Daimler still owns a big chunk of Chrysler as well.

    The bigger picture, is bigger...

It was reported that one japanese car outsold ALL Chrysler cars last year. I don't know if that meant one model or one vehicle, but regardless, it's bad for Chrysler.

Sadly, Chrysler wont need any help in going under... They seem to be doing that very well all by themselves. I just hope that the feds have the brainpower to nationalize the defense arms of GM, Chrysler and Ford and let the rest go belly up. In the long run bankrupcy and a shedding of their Union shackles will be more helpful to the companies than any government bail out plan.

If the porn industry can apply for a bailout, so can Cerberus/ Chrysler, they are too big too fail. We want Cerberus Mangement to prosper. What a web they've weaved.

I'm afraid Major Woody is right-if Ceribus starts having trouble, Chrysler will be the least of our worries.

It is interesting that anyone would believe that it is the profit margin from assault weapons that is keeping Chryseler afloat. If that was the case, then the recent rash in gun buying should have offset the car sales slump. It hasn't.
