Awhile back Athena hosted a Springfield range day. I believe it was during the week, so I couldn't make it. From what I heard, it was a success and a great way to shoot several different springfield pistols without paying rental and range fees. Well, Saturday, September 28th, Athena is hosting a Sig Sauer day. Shooters will be able to shoot several different varieties of Sig Sauer firearms. No idea on what guns will be available that day. If I'm in town, I'm going to try and attend.
Some of Athena's prices are high, and their ammo is out of sight (at least right now), but I think they are overall a good outfit and I've had excellent experiences with them so far. Their range is definitely top of the line, though more expensive than other locations around town. I'm sure everyone has an opinion about Athena, and not all of them will be favorable, but I think events like the Springfield and Sig days are cool opportunities. Shooters can try out guns at no cost before they buy, and Athena draws in potential new customers at a fairly low cost.
