I was in west Texas once and went through a dust storm like that.
About 2 hours before it started to roll in you could see this redish brown wall cloud.
When it hit every breath tasted like dirt.
The next day there was a 3/4 inch of dust and sand settled in places like snow drifts

hah! wow. yeah brings back memories of my childhood out ina town called Knott Texas.
    sandstorms sometimes for whole days.
even though we had all of our windows sealed shuth with silicone afte the storms there would be super fine piles odf dust on all the window sills.
once i opened the door, the wind caught it and whipped it againts the side of the house. tookl both my mom and dad together to get it closed again.
and the dirt devils! they where somehting else. hell it was so flat out there my dad and i could see tornadoes 40-50 miles away. made for good entertainment sice there was only 4 tv channels, and they required me to holdonto the antenna....
