When i was the age of 15 (3 years ago) i had got charged with Minor Usage Of Alcohol. (I am 18 at the moment). The charge got dismissed.

In the state of Texas you can be 18+ to purchase a Shotgun or Rifle. I am going to purchase a firearm and i know they do background checks. Is the Dismissed ticket i got when i was 15 still going to be on my record when they do the background check?

Thank you very much for your reply.

In my younger days I was a hell raiser. I had a few run ins but no convictions. I have no problem getting a chl or passing nics checks. You should be fine.

It should have been a minor in possession of alcohol charge, no usage statute in Texas. That would have been a class c misdemeanor and barring some other circumstance, would not interfere with your ability to purchase.

If your applying for a CHL then send a copy of the courts final disposition. If it was a case dismissed and it's on recent record they could probably just call the court clerk to confirm.
