    Lt. Stuart Alexander was born in San Antonio, Texas in July of 1961. He attended High School in San Antonio and earned a Bachelors of Arts Degree in Criminal Justice from the University of Texas San Antonio. He joined the Corpus Christi Police Department in August of 1988 as a cadet in the Police Academy. After passing the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement Officer Standards and Ethics (TCLEOSE) exam following his successful completion of the Police Academy, Alexander was sworn in as an officer on December 30, 1988.

    Lt. Alexander was assigned to the Patrol Division throughout his career and earned a reputation as an uncompromising and extremely hard working officer and supervisor. He was appointed as a Field Training Officer in 1998 and promoted to the rank of Lieutenant in December of 2000. Lt. Alexander was a fervent foe of intoxicated drivers and was consistently among the Department's leading officers in DWI arrests. During his 20 year career, Lt. Alexander received numerous Departmental commendations and letters of appreciation from the public; among those are the following:
    • June 1989- Letter of Commendation from Chief Robert K. Olsen for his professional handling of a stranded motorist
    • April 1990-Letter of Commendation from Chief Henry Garrett for his assistance again to a stranded motorist.
    • May 1991-Letter of Commendation from Chief Henry Garrett for public service activities at a local middle school.
    • May 1992-Letter of appreciation from a citizen for his response to a fallen elderly person.
    • June 1993-Letter of Commendation from Chief Henry Garrett for his apprehension of vandals at a local car dealership.
    • March 1993-Letter of and awarded eight hours of compensatory time for his on-view arrest of an armed robbery suspect at a local car wash.
    • May 1994-Letter of appreciation from president of local chapter of RID for his DWI enforcement activities.
    • September 1995-Letter of Commendation from Chief Henry Garrett for assistance to a citizen.
    • April 1996-Letter of Appreciation from citizen.
    • December 2000-Promoted to Lieutenant. Assigned to Patrol Division.
    • September 2001-Master Peace Officer Certification
    • December 2001-Letter of Commendation for his exemplary supervision of a robbery scene that resulted in the arrest of two suspects.
