    don't forget the crappy 10% ethanol gas, it is hard on gas generators. Leaving it in the fuel tank or lines can almost guarantee your generator will not last more than one season. Keep it clean and corn free gas if possible.

    The next prep-step for us is to place a surplus MEP-003A in a purpose built, insulated shelter in the backyard. These generators are continuously rated at 10KW at 6500' ASL and 135F. At our elevation and temp should be able to provide much more. They sip diesel and other than oil and air filters require very little maintenance.
