    I'll buy that bipod

Not for sale. But Texas Rifle Works can get you one.

Barrel Nut Wrench arrived... But Barrett must have cemented the barrel nut on because we couldn't get it to break free. Even after a lot of heat.

Armed Concepts said they'll mask the barrel off.

Received my REC10 back last week. Went with a two-tone consisting of Elite Concrete and Elite Smoke. Armed Concepts did an amazing job!

I pushed through the colder, wet and windy weather and visited Blackwood Gun Club to get it zeroed. After going through some 168gr MagTech I was able to get just shy of 2.5moa using Hornady 168gr A-Max ammo. Feel with more shooting and use of a Bipod I can tighten up the grouping.

Overall I’m very happy with the rifle. However the ALG Defense trigger, well, sucked. I was able to visit Texas Rifle Works and pick up a CMC single-stage, flat, 3.5# trigger. Dry firing only, I’m much more happy with the trigger. Wheeler trigger gauge showed consistent 2.5# trigger pulls. Can’t wait to get back to the range for more break in and hopefully slaying some hogs in the future.

Finished my light setup for the Barrett REC10: Surefire Scout M600DF mounted with an Arisaka Defense Offset MLok mount. The Surefire ST-07 tape switch is secured with a Cloud Defensive LCS mount. ⁣

Went to test various ammo with the Barrett REC10. While most looked like 2moa, I ran the best grouping through the Ballistic-X app. Norma 168gr SMK HPBT achieved a 1.16moa.

    Rifle: Barrett Rec10 .308
    Optic: Vortex Viper PST 1-4x24
    Suppressor: Crux Nemesis30
    Range: 100yds ⁣

*I placed the ammo in matching order of the target.

Very nice. Do you think you could get more accuracy with more than a 1-4x power scope?

Yes, more glass will help me a lot. Also more trigger time.

Took my 6y/o son shooting and with the little time between him shooting and being bored I snuck in a quick grouping. Added a Harris bipod and my WiebadGear bag. Federal 168gr SMK... That flier was me.

Well, I had been waiting for Primary Arms to release their SLx 1-8x24 FFP ACSS Raptor optic since July when I heard it was being produced. Than surfing FB I saw MrGuns&Gear had a link to the scope with a free mount or rings (Click Me) and PA had a "Save12" 12% off the entire store. So I wasted no time placing the order. With the First Responder discount as well, I was able to get this optic and mount for sub $400! It arrived Saturday and was able to get it mounted.

First impressions: Pretty solid and clear glass for a sub $500 (MSRP) scope! At 1x the reticle acts as a red dot when illuminated. The reticle is etched so you don't have to have it illuminated. Between 2x & 3x "my" eye can start seeing the ACSS reticle and hold-overs. At 8x the reticle is big and bright (like the stars at night).

Now I still need to go out and zero it. PA manual says to zero 1" high at 100yds with M80 147gr/168gr SMK .308. So we'll see how accurate the BDC is using 168gr SMK.

Went and zeroed the new PA 1-8. Full review in the Optics sub forum.

Rifle is still treating me good. Went out to ASC and was getting consistent hits on steel at 400 yards. The ACSS reticle works "well." Shooting prone and through some taller grass I got a couple hit on target at 600yds. Only complaint is it is way over gassed with my 30cal cans. This is a known issue with the rifle and most 30cal AR suppressed rifles. I reached out to Barrett, and some personal research, and found that an OSS HXQD762 suppressor should help. As much as I'm tired of waiting on Form-4 approvals, I'll probably be ordering one next month.

That’s an expensive fix for over gassed AR10.
