I have made the unfortunate mistake of selling my 10/22s figuring on picking up one later.

I havent see the base model blue and wood 10/22 anywhere in stock for about a year now.

Is Ruger using the receivers to build more takedowns or are the base models just being sold right away?

San Marcos academy usually has a few base models. I've been mostly shooting my marlin 60. Its a better shooter out of the box than the base model 10/22.

    Gunz are icky.
The local Academy and Wal-Mart usually have one or two. I see them at the gun shows too.
Pawn shops are a good place to look for them too if you don't mind used.

Must be local. I walked into a LGS and found a blue/synth for 199, so I said what the heck and took it home.
