Why can't we have Texas made suppressors that stay in Texas exempt from ATF oversight again?
Because according to SCOTUS, all commerce is interstate commerce. Load of bull, right?

I know Montana made a law trying to nullify that ruling so that anything firearm related made in that state and never trafficked out of state is only subject to Montana law, but I don't know how tested and true that is.

I am hoping for a TX state law that would require CLEO sign-off within a certain period of time after the local sherif conducted a background check.
TN has a law like that:

The sheriff or chief of police of the city of residence of a person purchasing any firearm, defined by the National Firearms Act, 26 U.S.C. § 5845 et seq., shall execute within fifteen (15) business days of any request all documents required to be submitted by the purchaser if the purchaser is not prohibited from possessing firearms pursuant to § 39-17-1316.

Not to mention the marijuana laws states have passed.
