Had to rethink my next purchase today.. Was at my FLGS and tried a 92 that one of the guys there did a trigger job on....very nice. It was a huge difference from the one I carried in the Corps, enough that IT WILL BE MINE!!!!

Ive heard very good things about the Beretta 92, It will be the next pistol i buy. I am very happy with my new Springfield xd in .40 caliber. Shoots excellent. I need a good 9 millimeter though and the Beretta 92 and the Browning HI-power would be the two best ones in my book.

That's because most military armorers are terrible about maintenance - almost everyone I know who shot an issue M9 and also shot a civilian 92FS has said the trigger was much worse on their issue.

Make sure and check out the Vertec version of the 92. Slimmer grip, tac rail, dovetailed front sight, and beveled magwell make a few improvements on the original design. Just throwing a "D" main spring in a stock 92 will greatly improve the double action pull for just a few bucks.
