I am looking to sell a few guns. I have never sold any guns and I do worry about doing private sales (liability). So what is the best gun shop to sell/consignment them at?

    Welcome to the forum Steve.

If you are uncomfortable with a private sale, then you will have to pay cash for extra peace of mind.

You have better and safer options (i.e. selling via this forum).

As mentioned, a private sale is the best route. Consignments will cost too much money.

If you need assistance with private sales, feel free to ask questions or reach out to those of us in SA.

My shop charges 10% for a consignment sale. You set the asking price. As long as the potential buyer is happy with your price, we all come out happy.

The down side is you’re paying me 10%. The upside is we do all the work of getting it sold and you don’t have to talk to anyone but us.

Consignment sales are less stressful for the seller. If you go the personal and private sale route, you have to deal with making out a Bill of Sale in triplicate, collect a DNA, and fingerprints, check their DL, or LTC is current, a credit report, a criminal background check, make sure their vaccination records are up to date, their dogs have their shots up to date and that their HOA fees are current to date, and if they hold a DL, you must confirm that their vehicle registration and insurance are current as well.

Sarcasm, it's free sertvice of TGT! Welcome!

99% of the folks here are rock-solid citizens......I've bought and sold a bunch of guns here, and was never worried about it. If someone approaches you that gives you bad vibes, just pass on the sale - there'll be someone else along shortly.
