    San Antonio!
I'm still around, just real busy and sidetracked with other things.

    Haven't we all!

But now that you're back, what have you decided?

If you need any help, I am sure the local members (myself included) would be more than happy to help.

I still recommend private sales over consignment. I don't know of any good gun or pawn shops in the SA area worth using for the latter.

I would also recommend trying on here before using TexasGunTrader. I've had a few bad experiences with it, mainly people simply not showing up for the transaction.

I've never had an issue with anyone on here.

Lastly, no paperwork is required for private sales to another Texan. It's not impolite to ask to see a DL or LTC to verify residency, but it is to record personal information. And if anything about the buyer makes you suspicious, you have every right to back out of the deal.

All SAPD substations have a Safe Exchange Zone for conducting such transactions , which includes those for firearms. There are designated parking spaces at the substations monitored by camera. Exchanges can also take place in a substation lobby. All you have to do is show up. Here is a map of the locations:

Thanks you, I'm going to follow the advice and going to do private sales and ask for DL/LTC, at a local police station.

FWIW - I've done many FTF transactions w/folks from this forum at my house. My litmus test - "If I don't trust them enough for them to know where I live, why the HELL would I sell a gun to them???"

    Just think about that......

    Not where you are
Any FFL can run a ck on any firearm SN and advise if stolen.
Not a bad thing to do if your buying one.

Not so good if your the guy selling it however.
