    I don’t think any of the prognosticators have an even
    chance of getting it right or wrong this time around.

    That being said, a lot depends on what ends up being a motivator to vote. The delta between him & hot wheels in their respective 2018 races was 600K votes. That is, hot wheels garnered 4.6M votes against Lupe Valdez while beato got 4.04M against Cruz. 600K vote delta is a big difference.

    Turnout seems highly variable in the governor’s races. 2018 had nearly double the turnout than 2014, probably due to Cruz’s sear being up for grabs. Looking at hot wheels’ 2.79M votes, he gets trounced by beato’s 2018 harvest. If turnout looks like the 2020 presidential election, hot wheels wins by a landslide.
