Bicycle is considered a vehicle. Vehicles are required to yield to pedestrians if there is a chance of collision. Sorry for the delay, Christmas received first priority.
Bicycles are only subject to vehicle laws when operating on the road. Trails aren't road, sidewalks aren't roads.

And peds are required to stay on sidewalks, or if not provided, walk facing traffic. Anything else and they are fair game. ;)

There is no Texas law requiring bicycles to to yield to peds. Link or shut up

    Not where you are
I provide bicycle riders the same courtesy they provide drivers when they are pedaling their butts down the middle of the road 3or 4 of um not giving a rats arse they are impeding traffic. So they receive the same courtesy from me IE pass as close as I can etc.

Now the ones that do right and move out of the road etc receive a much nicer treatment.

Most bike riders a t like they are privileged and dont give a crap.

Trail here that crosses the road
    Trail has a stop sign.
    Road doesnt
Many times Ive had asswipes on bikes disregard the sign and just cross the street.

    Rules apply to ALL.

The stop sign on the trail carries no legal weight and it could easily be argued in court the trail is a sidewalk which would make the crossing a crosswalk, meaning vehicles must yield to the bicycle who is at the time a pedestrian.

Some peds cross against crossing lights
    Some cyclists blow stop signs
Some drivers speed and pass illegally.
Let's all hate each other because THEY break the law. Yeah, that's smart.

Enough arguing, more biking. 13.6 mph avg on a trail with a 15 mph posted limit. Lots of new riders on the trail trying out their Xmas presents. Damn near took out a stroller today.

Mongoose, I'll give you credit. You are close, however, avoiding a collision is strictly something different the yielding as the avoidance is required even when the vehicle has ROW. i.e the vehicle may be required to avoid the ped, but the ped could/should still get the ticket for PED IN ROADWAY or OBSTRUCTING HIGHWAY or any other applicable cite.

It also is only for PUBLIC ROADS and does not apply to parking lots; private driveways; peds walking with their head up their butt; trails or paths.

Bottom line bicycles yielding to peds isn't anything but a courtesy and a generally reasonable one IF peds aren't being stupid.

I went for a ride this afternoon. That wind was brutal, and my longest and steepest climb was running directly into it.

What's the best way to deal with goat heads? I have some slime-filled tubes enroute.

Going tubliss and running Stans, Orange Seal or Trucker co sealant.

It will be a few bucks for setting it all up, but slime has never sealed and I hated changing folks slimed tubes when I worked at the shop.

A latex based sealant needs a bit more upkeep than glycol based stuff but it actually seals and drys into a real plug, not just a thick goo that still slowly seeps out punctures.

Between 1900 and 2100 usually. I generally only sleep about 6 hours a night. Since I broke the rib, I have been sleeping more, but as it heals am getting back closer to my 6 hours and up routine.
