Lot of misconception about Teflon coated bullets........................

Funny how most think that the Teflon was on some bullets back in the day to aid in penetration of body armor. It was there to help it get out the barrel of the gun without damaging the rifling and penetration of hard surfaces. The AP handgun bullets were extremely hard and not hollow points. Teflon did nothing to increase penetration of vests, it actually hurt performance in that area. It did however prove to aid in not deflecting off hard targets like glass and car doors which it was designed to penetrate.

Here is a line up of KTW rounds that garnered a lot of the attention. BTW the media got it all wrong and blew it out of proportion, imagine that..............

Stopping power had become a catch phrase for marketing, much like "knockdown power". Both are misleading. Expansion is good but meaningless without adequate penetration. Adequate penetration is always good even with out expansion, but if you can have both it's better.

When I said stopping power I was referring to the ability to stop an aggressor from further action. If I got shot with a talon and saw a hole 2-3" in diameter, I would probably stop.

What caliber talon are you shooting?

I was exaggerating a little but I was just trying to make a point.

I know, but relying on pain alone to stop an attacker is a big gamble. I would rather have 9mm FMJ punching deep than .45 expanding to .75 and only making it a few inches in soft tissue.

I want vitals.

If you had that shallow 3" hole in you and your life was on the line with an attacker still coming would you continue to fight? Keep in mind that a crackhead probably won't notice the holes being punched in him no matter the caliber.

it wasn't a lie. When a Black Talon enters the body, it speeds up and every couple inches it changes direction and keeps going until it has devastatingly destroyed every major organ in the body, but not before entering the brain and turning it into white jello. Truth.
